Blemish Repair

I took this picture of myself today and made it my profile on Facebook.

Majestic, yes? I should be hanging on a banner lit by floodlights in a most fabulous communist city square.

I always wished I had more prominent cheekbones, sharper angles and less of a roundness to my face below my eyes. Not being an expert at photoshop, I couldn't make that happen, but I could use this wonderful tool called "blemish repair" in iPhoto. You take a little circle, put it over a zit or other undesirable mark on your face, and with a click you'll find it's magically erased.

As Staples would say, "that was easy!"

We always try and put our best face forward (literally) on social media. Right now my complexion is not the best; winter or stress or something has wreaked a little havoc, so I diligently fixed every single spot, zit, shaving nick, or other blemish before uploading that photo as my profile. I even removed a few hairs sticking out from the back of my neck.

The original has been saved over, else it just occurred to me that I could post it here. There are a few outtakes that I could post, that aren't the same but show my face in all its imperfect glory, but I suppose I'll withhold those.

After all, who doesn't want to be perfect?
